Slow Cookers didn't have a regular pitcher at the games Sunday, so Cathy stepped in to pitch in the second inning against BAMFs. Cathy pitched the rest of the game against BAMFs, getting a key strikeout early on. She then went on to pitch the full game against Balls Deep, battling the warm weather to keep her team in the game. For her willingness to step into a key position and positive attitude, Cathy is certainly deserving of Player of the Week.
Debi steps out onto that mound every week ready to go and help her team out. Everyone knows that pitching isn't an easy spot but Debi makes it look easy. Not only does she pitch a good game she also always seems to find a way to contribute not on offense and on defense. Debi is the true definition of a team player and is always finding ways to pick her team up . And is always finding away to to let them have fun. Keep it up!
Everyone knows about Cathy's skills as a defender; she plays first base like an elegant swan. But often overlooked are her skills as hitter. Cathy nailed sever base hits over the course of the game, including a beautiful blooper over the head of a 3rd baseman who underestimated Cathy's range. Go Big Red!
