Winter Co-Ed Indoor Volleyball Tuesdays at Fernwood Middle School

The games prior to the championship match were filled with some dynamic play and underdog fun! Both courts went to three games and all teams sweated it out with their best effort. The stage was set with "You Got Served" taking on "Girl Boy Dig" on court 2 and "Team Tipsky" facing off against "Can you Dig it" on court 1.

Tipsky brought the fear with their collared button down shirts, they look organized! Can You Dig It wouldn't go down with a fight as they brought Tipsky down in game two with their amazing blocking and crazy volleyball rolls. It wasn't much time before Tipsky made things happen and even brought in the cheerleaders (they were both under the age of 6, but I think it really gave them the edge ) Tipsky's skills were too much for Can you Dig it as they prevailed to a 2-1 win.

Court 2 also brought a great match-up! Girl Boy Dig did nothing but hustle and work as a team talking through every play and man did they work those angle shots! You Got Served could be better described as you got sick with players recovering from the flu, strep throat and even a broken collar bone. These pitfalls would not allow the team to stop fighting as they took the final victory in the third game, advancing them to the finals

It all comes down to this; with three games played by each side it was now time to see who could make it in the final leg. It was a Tipsky vs. You Got Served match-up. Both teams were pumped and ready knowing that Mississippi Pizza was on the line. You Got Served started out with some rocket hits, but their ailments seemed to be creeping up on them as they did not seem to be holding up in the same condition as their first match. This didn't stop Tipsky's well oiled machine as they continued to power through. Tipsky really pulled out all the tools and took the match in 2 games. The collared plaid, solid, and even Fed Ex button downs really made them deliver tonight. Well played everyone!
