First Place

Summer Co-Ed Softball Sundays at Irving Park

There was no better way to finish off a great season of summer softball. This Sunday was a warm and beautiful day of playoff action at Irving Park. The first game of the day started an explosive day for the offenses. Each team had their share of deep balls and line shots in the gaps. Isotopes and Ballz Deep played a great game to start the excitement. It was the second match up that set the tone for the rest of the day. Busch Leaguers and Ballz Deep took a competitive game to the last inning in which Busch Leaguers came out on top. The day got more and more exciting with last inning heroics from Ballstars. Box Knockers held a lead for most of the game and took it into the seventh inning. Ballstars ended the game with a one out single to advance into the next game. In the next contest, Jelly Osaki came out swinging away and never looked back. It was their strong defense and fire power that kept Ballstars off the bases. Jelly Osaki and Busch Leaguers met in the last game for the championship. The game started out close with neither team able to get their offense going. It wasn't until the third inning where Jelly Osaki put up 9 runs and kept the lead the rest of the game. Jelly Osaki was led by a great pitching performance from Shauna and timely defense from Mitch and Nicole. Busch Leaguers played an awesome game and showed great sportsmanship in a tough defeat. Both teams demonstrated superb class throughout the match.

Sunday, August 2

POTW: Shawna Davis

Jelly Osaki

This week's POTW award goes to Shawna for her outstanding pitching in the intense heat! Her ability to battle the heat and throw strikes was a key element in her team's victories. Time after time she kept the ball right over the plate and scooped up anything that came her way. It was a cool performance in the heat of the day.

Sunday, July 26

POTW: Paul Packer

Jelly Osaki

Paul was huge for the Jelly Osaki offense adding 4 hits and 4 RBIs. Paul set the tone early on in the game making an amazing out on a close play at the plate.

Sunday, July 19

POTW: Lisa Yarborough

Jelly Osaki

Lisa went the distance on Sunday giving up 3 runs 0 earned on route to her first victory of the season. Lisa also helped her team by adding 3 hits and 2 RBIs.
