After narrowly defeating The Kankles in the the semi-final game, Kenny Powers had enough juice left to earn the title over Gang Green.
Gang Green got to the finals by putting everything on the field in the semis against the defending champs Blue Balls.
Both semi-final matches were tough. Gang Green limited their errors and had an incredible game against Blue Balls. Both teams played well. Kenny Powers were behind most of the game. They weren't able to pull ahead until the bottom of the 7th.
The Championship match held close for the first few innings. A couple solid innings put Kenny Powers ahead. They were able to keep their lead in win the title.
Kenny Powers may have the highest average age, but with that comes wisdom and years of skill. It certainly showed this season. Kenny Powers came every week to play, especially this week. Congrats Kenny Powers. We'll miss you guys this summer.
Like every story of the diamond starts, "Bases were loaded." As often as you here that set up, you rarely get the payoff "Grand Slam," but this Sunday Ty sent one into outfield that delivered one, two, three, yes, all four runners home. Kenny Powers impresses every week. This week, Ty stepped up and laid down a season first at Berkeley Park.
Kenny Powers may not be as limber as in days past, but their play is still as solid as ever. A roster littered with players wrapped head to toe with braces didn't keep them from hustling their way to a 5 - 3 victory. See you next week Kenny Powers, when ACE wraps become a standard part or your uniform.
Nicole hustled her way back onto the field after a hard week 1 fall. A trip here and there and a ball to the head couldn't slow her down in week 3. The game of kickball enjoyed your return as much as you did. Good to have you back.
The sun beat down on Berkeley field over a bottom of the 8th, 6 to 6 tie game when Tamara Levi stepped up to kick. One runner on base, 10 others on the field. The pitched soared in and Tamara stepped up, sending the ball skipping down the infield and the runner home for the 7 - 6 win. Sweet kick Tamara!
