Multiple Scoregasms were a juggernaut in the playoffs, dominating their opponents through a combination of clutch kicking and heady fielding. Led by their captain, Molly Matson, whose sure-handed fielding at third base set the tone, they were also helped by Adam Staton-Smith, a pitcher who wouldn't have looked out of place at a bowling alley, and the always hustling Laura Sanderman. All that said, credit is due to Shaggin Balls for pulling off the unbeaten regular season (a la the New England Patriots in 2007). A rivalry could be brewing ...
Out in left field, Charlie Baumann made his present felt for the Multiple Scoregasms all season long, but he really pulled out all the stops in the playoffs. He was the proverbial "black hole," gobbling up any ball hit his way, and on top of that, he was a vocal leader for his squad, providing all sorts of crazy energy between innings as he sprinted on and off the field, not to mention his unique brand of hustle on the basepaths. For setting the tone, and delivering when the game was on the line, Charlie is our final player of the week. Congrats!
Matt changed the momentum of the game when he zeroed in on a runner from the opposing team who was sure to score. As the runner began to slide into home plate, Matt threw a strike and hit him from behind before he could touch the plate.
