In a seesaw final match, Cobra Kia squeaked out a comeback win over a determined T.Wrecks. Going into the final game of the season, Cobra Kia needed a win to force a one game playoff for the League Championship. Cobra Kia was in desperate need of a clutch performance and Anne was the player to provide it. With T.Wrecks with the momentum, Anne came up with some key catches to keep her team's hopes alive.
T.Wreck's pulled away with an early 2 game advantage but Cobra Kia came back and tied the match at 2-2. The teams split the next 2 games to bring it back around to a 3-3 tie. T.Wreck's took the next game to claim the lead at 4-3. With time running out that was when Cobra Kia need their clutch performance. Cobra Kia proceeded to win the next 2 games to claim the Championship.
The battle for 3rd and 4th place was just as tightly contested. Eat Lighting, Crap Thunder pulled of a stellar win over a hard charging Got Hops Tie-Dyed t-shirted team. The 3rd place finish can only be contributed to the teamwork of the entire Eat Lighting, Crap Thunder squad. Both squads had to fight from their 10th and 9th seeds respectively.
Every team in the Championship Tournament had a great showing. By the Ballz had a deep run into the bracket lead by Colleen Nolan's All-Around Awesomeness. Nunchuck Fury was inspired by the play of Nick Yazzolino with his tie-breaker win. Got Balls was, with Cameron Willis and Anne Adams leading the way by their clutch plays and 3:1 standoff wins, was a tough squad to eliminate from contention.
All the teams left everything on the court at the end of the night. Giving the 110% effort that was the trademark of this league all season long.
With her clutch catches during the championship match, Anne was the most important cog the kept the Cobra Kia championship machine rolling.
In the close 5-4 win over By the Balls, Tyler had 10 put-outs throughout the match. He demonstrated an uncanny ability to get people out with an assortment of throws. He struck fear into the hearts of his opponents every time he touched the ball.
Cobra Kai unleashed a monster in the form of Kayla Kuretich. Not only did she make catch after catch, she also fired her usual bullets that looked like green blurs flying around the Friendly House. No need to worry when she is on her own facing 4 opponents. She methodically fired ball after ball connecting on almost every throw and getting the win for her team.
