In the Rookie division championship game, Da Bajinas found themselves playing against Rubber Balls and Liquor, a team with swagger and the talent to match it. It wasn't an easy road to get there for either team. In their semifinal matchup, Rubber Balls and Liquor found themselves down 4-0 early to Trippin' Balls. But where lesser teams might have folded, they didn't. They continued to chip away at the score throughout and came back to win 7-5. Da Bajinas semifinal game against Drunk Again and Looking to Score was tight from the get go. At the end of 6 innings the score was knotted at 2-2. They then proceeded to reel off 4 runs in the top half of the inning and went on to win 6-2. In the final game of the day, the Bajinas relied on finesse, teamwork, and sportsmanship to come out on top as they coasted to a 13-1 victory powered by Ryan Manfrin's 2 homeruns. Congrats Bajinas on a terrific season!
Ryan Manfrin brought his A-game to King School Park on Sunday helping lead Da Bajinas to their first championship by kicking 2 homeruns in the final game. A great way to put a cap on excellent summer season, nice job Ryan!
Tyler Benson came to play on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at King Park, but after an intense Red Rubber Showdown on Saturday Tyler got the day off. Sitting like a king in is king beach chair cheering on his team looking so fly with the icy white sunglasses and golden cleats but really recouping from a intense Saturday tourney. Tyler was an amazing force to be reckoned with on the sidelines. If you want to over cheer against the Da Bajinas you better bring your "A" game to out cheer Tyler!
It was a hot, muggy Sunday when Da Bajinas were set to lead of the top of the 1st vs.Torn Ligaments. Having more than enough players, injured Tristen Ross, still took to the plate AND field throughout the game. At the dish she connected for 3 hits, one of which was left-footed(!). It didn't stop there, she continued to help her team in the field stoping shots and making throws/outs to first. It was a well played team game, BUT Da Bajina she was not. Great hustling Tristen!.
Kellie and her team, "Da Bajinas" had a stellar game Sunday. Kellie was all over the field, on both offense and defense. When she wasn't getting on base she was cheering on her team from the sidelines. On both sides of the ball she was eager to make the play, all while maintaining the grace of a "gazelle". In addition to all this, she recently celebrated her 30th birthday. As the Player of the Week, Kellie played with the enthusiasm and tenacity of an elementary school student, and we love that here at Underdog. Happy belated birthday Kellie. Way to go!
