Players of the Week

Kelly - Safely Blitzed

Kyle from Safely Blitzed had his arm stretched out, his hat on and his shades nice and clean and ready to go. Oh did I mention he had his favorite receiver Christian standing at 6'4" with high socks and leaping abilities like superman.
Together these two had a great day in the sun throwing the ball around and catching it over defenders. But these two had something on Sunday that stood out above anyone else. They displayed the true Underdog Sports League meaning of happy smiles, cracking jokes and fun. They displayed great sportsmanship all around. Christian is one of the taller players and Kyle has the longest last name and that gives them the Players of the Week award. Congratulations

Player of the Week

Julie Erickson

Julie Erickson must have been a receiver's/secondary coach in the NFL because she had a monster game displaying her skills as she lead her team to a 10 point victory.
On their 1st drive Safely Blitzed was knocking on the door ready to score. As a pass was thrown, out of nowhere Julie makes a grab, dragging both feet in bounds as she falls out. What an amazing grab! She taught that move to Jerry Rice.
Later in the game while on defense, she decided to make a break for a ball and grabbed an interception from the opposing team to nearly return it to the house.
Julie Erickson had a huge game receiving 2 touchdowns, 1 interception and a few key stops. All in a days work at Underdog Sports league. Congratulations to the Player of the Week.

She must be a "ringer"

Welcom back

Bring in the "ringer".....
You would think Lynn Halvorson played in the NFL and that Safely Blitzed brought in a ringer. She might have taught Brett Farve everything he knew (in his prime).
As we began another football season at Powell Park, Lynn came back to prove a point that she has always been better than Brett Farve as she threw for 5 touchdowns and scrambled away from defenders, picking the defense apart.
Looks like Lynn had football in her mind all summer and she came out to lead her team to an opening day victory. Congratulations to Lynn Halvorson, as she gets the player of the week.
