Queen of the Jugheads

The Jugheads may be named after Cathy, but this week's POTW honors the queen of the soft serve - Vanessa Brooks. While other players toss the ball up and pound it overhand in hopes of perfect placement, Vanessa does it up old school with an under serve that pops up nicely then just dips over to the front row of attackers waiting to be foiled on the return. Because that's exactly what her serves can do. No need for the hard zingers to the defense - Vanessa has a finesse on her serve that defies explanation of how it glides over net then dies just out of reach. The Jugheads had a battle on their hands with NG13, and despite dropping all three sets, the last game was lost by a close edge 25-21due to Vanessa's pop-up, soft serving talents!
