Summer Softcore Kickball at Col Summers Mon/Wed

The stage was set. It was a one night, one game, winner take all opportunity for whoever was ready to claim victory. Gym Class Heroes and KICKTEASE both came clearly focused and ready to compete. A competitive and close game early on, emotions started to get the better of both teams as calls didn’t go their way or unforced errors began to frustrate players. A bit of trash talk heightened emotions across the board, but also acted to refocus Gym Class and remind them of what they were trying to accomplish. As they regained their composure, Gym Class quickly built a comfortable lead to distance themselves from KICKTEASE. That moment, when the Heroes decided to forget the drama and get back to what they knew best, proved to be THE decisive moment that catapulted them to victory.

Simba Shines

Lion King star makes an appearance at local kickball game

Taking a break from the big screen to bless us with his presence, Hollywood star Simba made an exclusive public appearance at a Colonel Summers on Wednesday. When asked what brought him out to Colonel Summers of all places, Simba simply trotted about the field for a moment or two before making his way back behind the fence line to watch the rest of the game. But like the entertainer he is, Simba couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do something memorable. Although we now have one more popped kickball, we couldn’t be more appreciative of Simba taking the time to enjoy some Wednesday night kickball with the rest of us. As big of a hit his new movie “The Lion King” is, he was an even bigger one Wednesday night.

Gym Class Heroes

Ivan has showcased his all around ability on the kickball field. He makes great plays in the outfield, and even saved a run with his catch and throw in. Ivan also possesses a clutch gene, ripping a walk off kick in a huge comeback victory. Keep it up Ivan!
