This week we take a look back at the Game of the Week. Make it Rain vs I'd Hit That. This was a game of nothing but FUN! Both teams had support on their sidelines and making noise like a college football game. With every out, their teams got louder in noise and fight songs.
Both teams were joking around and showed their respect for one another as the balls were flying threw the air. In one particular game it became a face off between Make it Rain's Brandon Jacobs and I'd Hit That's Vanessa Frahs. After dipping and dodging from both players for 3 minutes, Brandon had a ball and Vanessa was ball-less. Brandon unleashed a fiery fast ball. Vanessa looked death in the eye when she caught the ball without flinching for the final out. Afterwards she joked around saying ....."throw it harder next time."
The very next game set a record for the most catches and player swap ever. 3-2-1 Dodgeball. First ball was thrown and a catch was made. Another ball was thrown, another catch. This went on for a 20 second stretch that if you'd blink you would miss all the action. A new record was set of 22 catches and 33 player swap.....We do keep track.
For all this amazing good times and great game play by both teams. We give these two teams the Team of the Week and Battle of the Week Awards. Congratulations!
"I want to play coach, put me in!"
Those were the famous words by Lee Anne Donaldson from team I'd Hit That. She has been plagued by back injuries for some time and wanted to play in the season opener, but was cleared. Instead of pouting and griping, she did the next best thing.
Lee Anne put on her team colors, rocking out an orange shirt with a matching hat and orange pom-poms. She became the teams #1 fan and the loudest fan!
Before the game even started, she was on the stage hyping the team up by cheering and waving around the bright orange pom-poms like the sun rays on a beautiful day. During the game, she would cheer when the team would get someone out and get louder when her teammates got out. It almost seemed like she was chanting fight songs as the games went on.
I'd Hit That lost their 1st game in a close battle, but Lee Ann's song chants and moral support helped her team bounce back to get a victory in the 2nd game.
Lee Ann went above and beyond her role as a player, she came out to rally, support and lead all players by example by showing her team spirit. For this reason Lee Ann Donaldson gets the season opener's Player of the Week Award. Congratulations
