For the second year in a row, those cute, Angry Koalas took home the coveted wristbands. In a close game that had both teams holding the lead, the toe punts and solid defensive plays by the Koalas proved to be the key to the ultimate victory. Congrats Koalas, and thank you for a fun, entertaining season! Can anyone say "three in a row!"?
Let's set the scene. It's the fifth, sixth, or seventh inning (who really remembers, right?). No outs, runner on first. The kicker steps up to the plate ready to rock. It was a marvelous pitch down the right hand side of the plate and boom, a blooper over first. Brianne was playing in deep right and was slowly heading to the ball when the greedy kicker decided he was going to take second. Not on Brianne's watch!! Brianne sprinted to the ball and booted it with all her might, zooming a line drive at the runner and poisoning him out (he was lucky to keep his feet under him)! Amazeballs! If we had recorded the game we would have sent it into Sportscenter - it was really that good!
