It's October, but no one told Portland. The day capped out at almost ninety degrees, and when you're on a baseball diamond, you feel about fifteen more than that. Sunday mornings have a bad habit of coming after Saturday nights, so hot ones can be extra miserable.
Kickball games aren't supposed to be 50-run affairs, but no one told Redline or w00ks. Eight innings with both teams mounting double-digit comebacks for a final score of 26-24 makes for a hot, sweaty marathon. The teams played hard and finished exhausted.
Days like this are supposed to be tiring, but no one told CJ. He stayed with the ball for the entire epic game. He booted it deep and caught it anywhere it was kicked. He played both sides of the field perfectly, stayed upbeat and energetic, kept spirits high when his team was down and kept pushing when his team was ahead.
On a beautiful sunny day with some "interesting" "spectators", Kyle stuck to his game plan and pitched an awesome game. Way to go Mr. Cooke!
