"Service with a Smile" aptly describes this Thursday's POTW - Hayden Todd of Indy Team #55, otherwise known as Big Pink. Hayden keeps her squad ready for the assist, block and "balls up" with her coaching throughout every set and match. Her enthusiasm is contagious and the consistency of her incredibly accurate serving style makes her shine. In the second set of the semi-final match with Just the Tip, Big Pink was behind and looked like they might lose. A perfect opportunity for Hayden to spark Big Pink with her steady service and always-present encouragement to help the team surge ahead for the win and match and a spot in next week's finals against Homeless Cougars. Here's to a great season Big Pink and Hayden Todd!
To quote Robert Moreno upon receiving this week's Tubman Thursday Night Volleyball POTW, "Say I'm handsome and humble". Okayyyyy.... But now on to the real reason we're honoring Robert - his unbelievable performance last night leading Indy Team #55 Big Pink to a resounding sweep of the match. Robert is one of the most consistent spikers in the Thursday night league and his ability to leap up for the ace is uncanny. His fantastic energy, especially during a long and exciting volley in the second set of the match with Sets on the Beach, makes Robert the ultimate teammate. He motivates Big Pink not only by being "handsome and humble", but powers through with some impossible digs - how does he do it??? By being Robert Moreno of course. Keep the consistency and great play coming, Robert - congrats!
