Can you say COMMANDING PERFORMANCE?? Not the Face sure can! They faced (I know, REALLY BAD PUN) some fierce competition in the semifinal game vs. More Points and again in the final vs. Notorious D.I.G., but managed to sweep 5 out of 6 sets for the evening. Led by the twin Bens (Lloyd and Richardson, wearing matching head wraps), and complemented by their fantastically talented teammates, NTF dazzled us with their uncanny ability to be right where they needed to be on most every play. Their teamwork and communication was some of the tightest USL staff has witnessed this season and ultimately was the winning combination in the championship. Wear those champ wristbands proudly - you deserve it NTF and we salute you!
Ben Rich is the King of Monday Night Late Fall Softcore VB at Tubman! Ben proved his royal status during the semifinal and final games of the late fall season with some terrific play during key points in all 6 sets he played with the champions, Not the Face. Ben was seemingly involved in every play with fantastic blocking at the net, consistent and powerful service and just all around body flinging in and out of bounds. Countless saves were attributed to Ben and his energy and selfless play inspired his teammates to push through some very close games in the semifinal vs. More Points and then on to ultimate victory in the finals vs. Notorious D.I.G. Congratulations on your performance Ben - you really gave your all for the big prize!
Always ready and in a positive mood, Not the Face, comes for the volleys and good times. Playing together calling their hits, sharing sets and all hustling, everyone contributed. Front row or back row, it didn't matter, as plays were made from all over the court.
Emily started it out, with 8 service points, serving tough all match, totaling over 20 points herself.! Servign short, deep, left, right, you name it. Adding some nice swings, sets and even a shoulder dig. Nice match y'all, it looked fun, keep it up
