The clear POTW this week is Shaymaa Taha. She owned the court and wasn't afraid to sacrifice her body for the ball. 2 Towns battled Homeless Cougars in 2 tight sets with help from Shaymaa, who stayed aware and eager. Extremely focused, her and Mohan even collided multiple times in attempt to stop the ball from dropping into emptiness. All in good laughs, she and 2 Towns didn't deter defensively all game.
Mohan consistently brings the heat in his serves and spikes. His purposeful sets aided 2 Towns in critical plays versus Homeless Cougars. He stayed alert and delivered in each swing. In one instance, Mohan had ample hang time, no one could predict when his attack would crash his opponent's surface. Turned out, his deceiving hit collapsed gently into a set. For this, POTW rightfully belongs to him.
Fluid communication and cohesive play, 2 Towns brought their A game. Especially, Stewart Wilson. He turned it up to 11 being a key play maker. Kill after kill, he even managed to sink the game ball in an adjacent basketball hoop. This kid was on fire and has earned POTW.
Indy #V38 are competing together like veterans. Their rapport shines especially with key utility players such as Ashley. Skillful with her sets and quick feet, this lady is always on her toes and ready for the next play. Her team attitude, willingness to volunteer as captain and dynamic talent earns her POTW.
A huge shout out and and a Tubman Tuesday night league kudos to our POTW, Liz Winters of Indy Team #38. Liz is the ultimate team player this week for stepping up to sub at the last minute for Not the Face. She quickly went about her business to be the 5th Man ('er woman) on the floor for NTF and rocked her game from the get go. Even though she may not have known her teammates prior to this game. Liz kept the squad motivated by calling shots and keeping the energy and focus up to rally point for point versus a very competitive squad in More Points. Liz's service and setting were without comparison especially in the second set where NTF battled to a 28-26 loss, but were neck and neck the whole game. Nice going Liz - we're looking forward to your contagious energy throughout the season!
