It was no accident two awesome teams played in the final match on championship night at the Friendly House on Wednesday night. The Division 1 bracket was loaded with talented staple teams on the Underdog dodgeball circuit, from perennial powerhouse Ball Rats to always dangerous Questionable Catch. Accidental Awesomeness was pushed to the limit in a semi-final match for the ages, just barely getting by Ball Rats with an amazing bicep catch to seal a 5-4 win and spot in the finals. Standing in their way for dodgeball legend status was Awesome Hardest, an experienced team who always brings their best when it comes to the playoffs. Accidental Awesomeness brought it hard and righteous from the first whistle, pounding the team in black all match long with an impressive synchronized offensive display. With a commanding 4-2 lead and time running out, the team of destiny finished off the match with one final win and a much deserved 5-2 championship match win.
Congrats to Accidental Awesomeness...all of you represent what is great about Underdog dodgeball at the Friendly House on Wednesday nights!

The Division 2 playoff bracket looked to be extremely competitive on paper, with a nice mix of some dangerous new teams and familiar faces on the Underdog dodgeball circuit. I'd Hit That! had a solid game plan all night long...be precise, be patient, strike the opponent as one with their throws and be the ballenest dodgeball team on the court this evening. Check, check, check & check on all of the above...I'd Hit That! showed us all what it takes to be a championship-caliber team. The championship match against Dodging with Precision was a chess match from the start, with both teams testing the ref's count down skills early and often. Neither team wanted to show their hand to the opponent, making sure that each throw had some meaning behind it. Some may have thought this was an anticlimactic championship match, but those in the know knew the method behind I'd Hit That!'s madness. As time ran out, the team in Orange brought it when they needed it the most, leading to a 3-2 victory and one more notch on their belts for a team that always brings out the best in everyone at the Friendly House.
