Danger Zone
Sunday afternoon ended with a marquee matchup between perennial powerhouses Danger Zone and AA, two teams who get the best out of each other every time they square off on turf at Lewis & Clark. Quarterback Chris looked dialed from the get go, spreading the wealth with crisp, accurate passes up and down the field. Holly Schor was a favorite receiver of Chris's all game long, her sure hands and sweet athletic moves helping her team to take a early lead over the always tough AA. Danger Zone kept the pedal to the metal all came long, fighting off a few comebacks in the 2nd half & eventually securing an impressive opening day 50-30 win on a fine afternoon for Underdog flag football.

Offense was the name of the game for the 5:00pm matchup between Roustabouts and Danger Zone at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. Back and forth the entire game, 129 total points scored...Baylor, TCU, Oregon type of OFFENSE was on display in the game of the day.
With time running out and deep in Danger Zone territory, Corrina dialed in a perfect button hook route just past the goal line, catching the go ahead touchdown and securing an amazing 65-64 victory in a game where defense took a back seat to two offensive juggernauts.

Alcoholics Anonymous
The lights were shining bright on the 4:00pm game between Alcoholics Anonymous and Pull it out in the end on Sunday, two quality teams looking for a signature win early in the season.
Both teams looked sharp from the start, displaying sharp route running and bend-but-not-break type of defense key to staying on top of the standings. With AA holding onto slim 22-16 lead starting the second half, Pull it out in the end drove the length of the field quickly to tie the game and setting the stage for a fantastic finish. Tommy Moore, quarterback and spiritual leader of AA, showed some serious poise and agility during the last few minutes of the game, sure to keep his name in consideration for end of season MVP honors. Facing 4th down and two long cones to get a first down and seal a victory, Tommy showed an amazing burst of speed, surprising both the defense and his teammates alike. The freight train took off like a bullet, securing a hard fought 36-34 victory in the game of the day at Lewis & Clark.

Safely Blitzed
Cold temperatures and heavy rains was the name of the game at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. While the weather may have been frightful, the 2:00pm matchup between Safety Blitzed & Snatches and Jerks was anything but in a very entertaining game that came down to the last play. This was a back and forth affair from the start, with both teams showing the patience and sure handedness crucial to keeping both of them in the game until the end. Long bombs and trick plays were replaced by short passes and quarterback runs...ball security was a must on a cold, blustery Lambeau Field.
With Safety Blitzed clinging onto a 34-27 advantage with less than two minutes to play, Snatches and Jerks marched down the field in fine fashion, capping a stellar drive with a sweet touchdown catch with five seconds remaining. One or two? Two it was, setting them up for a chance to win this whale of a game. Time stood still as the pass was thrown into the endzone...it looked like Snatches and Catches had called the winning play. Out of nowhere came Adam Eury, showing some serious closing speed and go go gadget arms, knocking down the PAT attempt and sealing a hard fought 34-33 victory.

Lava Sharks
With the holiday season upon us, an early Christmas present in the form of an outstanding game was given to those in attendance at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. Lava Sharks vs. Hot Pocket, two evenly matched teams jockeying for playoff positions in this highly competitive late fall season.
Shinning bright all game long for Lava Sharks was Kayla Walther, a sure-handed slot receiver whose precise curl routes and ability to get open on busted plays saved her quarterback's b-hind on more than one occasion. Kayla was the rock her teammates were looking for this game, leading her team to a much needed 33-20 victory and spot right in the middle of the playoff hunt.

PASSive Aggressive
Three practices a week, early morning film sessions and a strong desire to “make it happen” paid off big time for PASSive Aggressive in their 3:00pm game against Safety Blitzed at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. The early season struggles were a distant memory today for a hot team sure to make a statement come playoff time. Fan favorites Safety Blitzed were on point from the get go, taking an early 7-0 lead with their ever so efficient offensive play calling. PASSive Aggressive fought back as the 1st half came to a close, tying the game 14-14 at halftime.
An inspirational halftime talk sunk in big time with the team in Purple, as Passive Aggressive put the pedal to the metal with an impressive 19-0 offensive onslaught. Lisa Sullivan's first catch of the season was the highlight of the game, as her teammates cheered and congratulated her on the catch of the day. Congrats to both Lisa and team PASSive Aggressive on an impressive win on this fine day for Underdog flag football.

The players came to play on this fine day for Underdog playoffs at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. Kari Nilsen of team Swear to drunk I'm not god had the "it" factor and then some on field 3 against team Easy Company, showcasing both her offensive and defensive prowess throughout the game. Kari was on a mission today...two sweet offensive TD's, two timely INT's and a crucial knockdown of a 4th down pass that took the wind out the sales for team Easy Company. Nice work Kari...your overall domination on the field today helped propel your team to a convincing 48-14 victory and spot in the sure to be competitive final four next Sunday.
