Spring Sunday Evening Kickball at Montavilla Park

Who taught you how to dress? Well, whoever it was sure had fine taste in eye wear! Way to pull off the Elton John look for opening day of kickball and liven up the party just a little more. Hey, can you teach us how to play the piano too?

The Runs would like to think they are full of "smooth moves" and Sara backed that up Sunday with a dive over the ball on her way to first base. She landed a bit short of the bag, but scrambled on hands and knees to reach while the defense tried their best to peg the moving target. When the dust settled the ump yelled Safe! and Sara got the bag an a nice battle wound to boot. Way to go Sara! You've done The Runs proud - and are this weeks POTW!

Dara was tapped to fill in the game before hers - and promptly twisted her ankle going for a deep fly ball. But never fear - with enough ice and an hour on the bench Dara was back kicking for her AA team. She had many stellar plays in the field and help secure the 7-7 tie for her team. Way to be a good sport Dara!

When it comes to sheer entertainment value, few teams get it done quite like the Cold Hearted Snakes. Combining costumes that never failed to impress, music for each person during their at-bats, and an attitude that was not only positive but at times hilarious. Even when they were eliminated in a heartbreaking loss to Sparkle Motion, their stereo was playing "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men. Perhaps we should have expected nothing less from a team who got its name from a Paula Abdul song. So in an afternoon filled with accolades, one has to go to the Cold Hearted Snakes - win or lose, they look good doing it.
