The bottom of the pack rose to the occasion tonight!! Who Spiked My Dink and Perfect Strangers came out swinging to upset their opponents. Who Spiked my Dink came to the gym with a game plan and line-up in hand: that's what I call being prepared! It proved successful as they cruised through the first match taking all three games. Perfect Strangers also did a great job staying focused and finding the holes leading to their upset against the Swingers.
Both of these teams played great games throughout the season, but couldn't catch the break to put them into the #1 or #2 spots going into playoffs. But that didn't stop them from dominating their games in playoffs and cruising into the championship game.
Dink and Strangers had quite the work-out in the first match, so they had to dig deep for the second match. There was twisting, jumping and flailing from both sides to earn every point. Dink jumped out to an early lead in game 1 with Tim & Linus bringing the heat. But Perfect Strangers were not ready to give up as they snagged game 2. They were at the disadvantage with only 5 players, but during most of the match this went unnoticed. Cassie and Amanda had amazing ball control and Nick was an animal at the net. Both teams were running like well oiled machines. The teams played great throughout the season, but tonight was a whole notch above. The championship match came down to game 3. There were some tired bodies by game 3, but neither side was willing to give up. Similar to game 1 Dink came out to an early lead. Mike and Dean from Dink kept up their great communication and team play to help them pull away as Dink took game 3 for the W! All four teams played great Volleyball tonight, it was an exciting couple of hours!!!
