Spring Co-Ed Softball Sundays at Irving Park

Sunday, April 5

POTW: Dan Robinson
POTW: Dan Robinson
Ridiculously Obvious- Indy #1
Dan was unstoppable on Sunday, garnering the nickname "The Crusher" from his teammates. Every time he hit the ball, there was a scramble by the outfielders as the ran deep to get the ball and set up a relay. It was all for naught though as Dan hit a HR every time.

POTW: Amy Hall
POTW: Amy Hall
Cash Money Millionaires- Indy #2
Amy's exuberance behind the plate and on the base paths was one of the reasons the Cash Money Millionaires were able to stay fired up for both games of the double header. Her over the shoulder "sno-cone" catch with the backstop quickly approaching was the stuff of legend. Her immediate joy following the catch and then running out to give the pitcher a bear hug truly demonstrated the spirit of an Underdog. A tip of the hat goes out to you, Ms. Hall.

POTW: Garrett Bishop
Fighting Maple Leafs
Garrett displayed sturdy hitting and sure-handedness in the field, leading his team to a tie and a win for the double header. Whenever the other team made some plays to tie or take the lead, Garrett would rally the Leafs to counter with a run of thier own. Great all around play this week.

POTW: Tijani Stewart
The Shockers
Tijani was the catalyst for the Shocker's offense and was a force to be reckoned with while patrolling center field. Just when the other team would look like they were going to rally, Tijani would make a fantastic catch to squash any chance at a comeback. Great play today, Tijani, our hats go off to you.

Dave gets the POTW honors for this week's action. Dave showed up really early and filled in for a spot in the game before. He went out and played hard and had a blast just being out in the beautiful sunshine. Dave played in two games today and pitched extremely well in his teams victory. His leadership and willingness to help out another team earns him this week's POTW award.

POTW: Dan Feldman
POTW: Dan Feldman
Cash Money Millionaires- Indy #2
Dan's majestic, towering, three run home run was what playoff softball is all about - great players, doing great things in the clutch. The other team closed the gap to a one run game when Dan cranked a bomb to left center field. The ball made its way through the giant tree, over the fence, and off the garage in the neighbor's house. Dan plated two more runs later in the game to complete an all around awesome day at the plate.
