Summer Co-ed Softcore Kickball at Sewallcrest Park Sundays

An off-leash dog park means a lot of dog mess at times in the field. In the middle of the game sure enough here walks a dog out into center field and takes a squat. The owner being pretty far away did come over and try to clean up the mess but couldn't find it. Jon being the good citizen that he is decided to take the matter into his own hands after a few min of the owner wondering in circles trying to find his dog's mess. Jon sprints out to center field and sure enough finds the load in just a few short moments. Way to go Jon for looking out for our players and the well-being of their shoes along with all the other park-goers!

With the game all tied up in the bottom of the 7th inning Joey easily kicked a single to start things off right for Swift Kick in the Grass. Things got a little more hectic and exciting from there! With an amazing duck and dodge to avoid being thrown out at second base on the next play, Joey showed the kill or be killed mentality. He not only avoided the tag, multiple times, at second base he went on to do the same thing on his way to home plate. The best part about it was his gamble paid off big time as his run was the walk-off run to end the game! With his team chanting his name and carrying him off the field on their shoulders, Swift Kick came away with a victory to remain undefeated.

On a day when multiple players on his team were making spectacular plays, Taylor made the best of them all! On a drive to left field Taylor tracked down the ball and made a backwards leaping catch. Once horizontal in the air Taylor wasn't sure how he was going to land but his trusty viking helmet saved his head from a much harder blow than it was. I don't know if his viking roots or his bright neon yellow shoes had anything to do with the spectacular catch itself but sure enough he held onto the ball and made the out!
