Team Flare
Team Flare
Leading by example
It was all fun and games at The Friendly House on the season opener for Dodgeball, but there was one team that had more fun than any others there. Led by there captain, Carly Russell, team I'd Hit That stormed the court rocking out there flare to show unity. Each member had an epic 1970's mustache to show intimidation to the opposing teams.
Becky Schmitz played like a beast as she collected amazing grabs to help her team come back in the games. She played so well that her team dubbed her "Hot Hands".
Drew Stortz got a little jealous of her that he started to step up his game. While adding more flare by being the original Riddler, Batman's enemy, Drew caught a few balls himself to end a couple of games.
I'd Hit That played with so much fun that they started the season with smiles, laughter and a 2-0 start. Congratulations to the Team of the Week, keep bringing the fun!

Questionable Origins
Although Bryanna "Beano" Mommsen's short stature may not seem like a height advantage to some but in the world of Underdog Dodgeball, it most certainly is.
With stealthy, ninja-type capabilities Beano is able to play most of a game without being detected and then unleash a foam ball on an unsuspecting opponent. She's also dangerous for the fact that just about everyone ball thrown at her is a potential headshot, making every opponent have to double think every shot they take at her.
Aside from her dodgeball skills, Beano is a great personality to have on the team and on the court. While everyone likes to win, Beano is also out for a good time. The Dodgeball veteran also played Flag Football last season and has comeback for another this season.
Congrats Beano, You're the Player of The Week.

Chuck Norris Who?
Chuck Norris Who?
Simply Awesomeness
Who needs Chuck Norris when you have Amy Bunker on your team? Balls of Fury has to call Amy every Wednesday to make sure she will grace them with her presence.
Amy is so good that Balls of Fury has decided to erect a statue in her honor outside The Friendly House. She stepped on to the court showing no mercy as she ruled the court.
In one particular game, it was a showdown between her and another player. Amy was found without a ball. She simply pulled out the mighty Jedi trick where she waved her hand and magically appeared a ball in her hands as she got the last out to win the game.
Amy plays so well, that her normal aroma is called Awesomeness. In the 2nd match, Cory from Balls of Fury took a page out of Amy's book and tried to mimic her the best she could, but there will only be one Amy Bunker. Out of fear and awesomeness, she gets the Player of the Week award. Congratulations!

Hijinks and Antics
Hijinks and Antics
Team Strategy
It was all about crazy fun, hijinks and antics with team Not in the Face on Wednesday night at The Friendly House. They came in ready to play, but above all, ready to have fun!
They had one strategy in mind for their game play....to have fun. During their game, Asa Pogrelis attempted a bounce-off-the-wall-throw that could not be explained, but only witnessed. It is one of those throws that makes you think you are watching a movie of how just ridiculous it looks.
While Asa was attempting that, Yaser Ahmed would jump in after a catch only to be out immediately after stepping in bounds (everyone thinks that was his strategy).
Elizabeth was the vocal one of the bunch where she brings the support. Meanwhile Janice makes the "Impossible Catch". It was just a normal catch that she made after falling the ball softly came into her arms, but nonetheless called "The Impossible Catch".
One thing is for sure this team had tons of fun. After the games they went up to the opposing teams and gave out free hugs that you can only get from them when you ask for one. But because they Not in the Face was feeling so generous everyone got one for free. Because of their great game play and amazingly, awesome attitude, team Not in the Face get the Team of the Week award. Congratulations.

Tyler Bullen
Tyler Bullen
The Clymb-Axes
Turning 29 years old apparently adds 29 inches to your vertical leap. Tyler Bullen was all over the dodgeball court and occupying some major air as he eluded throw after throw. While it may have been an off night for the CLYMB-AXES Bullen had a big night in individual play.

So congrats and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tyler Bullen the UNDERDOG WEDNESDAY NIGHT LEAGUE DODGEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK. Be safe tonight but HAVE A BLAST!!!

3rd Eye
3rd Eye
Smiles, Fun and Outs
Lead by their captain, Carly Russell, team I'd Hit That brought their flare to The Friendly House for dodgeball. I'd Hit That had a 3rd eye attached to their foreheads. This was the all-seeing eye that helped them to catch every ball and dodge the fierce throws by their opponents.
I'd Hit That felt bad that people were disagreeing with the ref, so they decided to give him a set of eyes to put on so he would now have for eyes and make every call. It proved to work because not only did they have fun, but the ref also made every pin point accurate call.
In their 2nd match of the day, Azmat Hussain lead the team with most catches. Drew Stortz had a cannon on him as he would accurately get every player out. Vanessa Frahs had the best smile when she drilled someone, but it was Renee Hickman who blew everyone out of the water. That 3rd eye she had, helped her to dip and dodge matrix style to avoid getting hit. After it was all said and done, she was the MVP because "Being ***explicit** rad!"
One thing is for sure, team I'd Hit That knows how to have fun and for that, they are Team of the Week. Congratulations!

Celebrating a catch
Leading the team into the playoffs, Laura Grieser doesn't shy away from flying balls. The Clymb-Axes came into The Friendly House with less dodgeball experience than other teams, but they brought the intensity to make up for their weaknesses.
Unfortunately, they lost in the 1st round of the playoffs but not before their captain made it known that she is not scared of anyone. Laura hired a coach to train her in the sport of dodge ball so she can become the best player on the court. She dipped and dodged and grabbed the balls throwing players out one at a time.
With the 2nd game on the line, it came down to face off. A player from the opposing team fired a ball straight at her chest, knocking her down. But she still had focus on the ball and ended up making a spectacular catch on her back to end the game.
Not only did the game end in a celebration, but it also made her guru proud. Because of the smiles, Laura gets the Player of the Week award. Congratulations!
