Late Fall Co-ed Volleyball at Blazers Boys & Girls Club Mondays

I constantly say that the Underdog volleyball players always bring it all to the courts. And its true! But how do you truly know when a player is bringing it all? There are so many different ways! Tonight we saw Candace from Indy #V58 getting so scrappy on her first night on the court that a player from the other team actually offered her an extra set of knee pads! Candace was diving left and right, on and off the court to the point that OTHER teams were noticing! Most players get so focused on the game but when you're competing against a player like Candace its hard NOT to notice!!! Volleyball is a fun sport to watch but its so much MORE fun when you have players like Candace doing whatever it takes! Congratulations Candace on being our Player of the Week!

Underdog is all about being fair, having fun, and playing safe. Kyle is a player who truly embodies all of that. During their second set, game heating up, Kyle rushed up to the net to get the ball over and did all he could to limbo around the net so that the play would be legal. He ended up hitting the pad of the pole but still called a net because thats what he thought the fair call was. Its plays like that when a fair call is more important than a point to get ahead that really shows a team player. He makes the fair calls, limbos out of the way of the net to keep it safe and kept the energy up on the court with his awesome sets and plays making it a fun night on the court. Awesome jobs Kyle and congrats on being our player of the week!

Oh. My. Goodness! To be a good setter you really have to be able to get everywhere on the court in a split second and to Elijah that means running full speed ahead as far off of the court as needed, maybe even reaching out with one fist, because she's determined to get that set! And she really can set from anywhere in the court which is super impressive but not only that, they are beautiful sets too!
At the net? She'll set ya! Tight on the net? She'll dump it over for ya! Back of the court? She'll back set it to ya!

I swear she was next to the ball every second that it was on her court! Its one thing to be there when you call the ball and make the play but even when someone else called her off she was there and ready covering for them just in case because now more than ever every point counts! Its all or nothing in these end of season games and Jocelyn was for sure giving it her all, and then some! Congrats on being our player of the week Jocelyn!
