Telling Stories
"This is just like running sprints!"
Those are just some of the unforgettable words that Marcus McNabb had to say. The Trench Dogs took the field and almost ready to play in the season opener. Play after play they kept running harder and harder and Marcus was tired! He was so winded from running sprints that he said while grabbing his knees ...."This is in shape-ism!"
This is the 1st time Marcus and the Trench Dogs have played Underdog Football and they played the game with a smile and great one liners. When they would score, they would celebrate like it was 1999. Despite their loss, it was all about happy times for this team with the ultimate dream to continue playing on
Marcus said that if he would get the player of the week award, he would be able to tell his grandchildren about it one day when he is old and grey. It looks like he will get his wish so he can tell that story. Congratulations to Marcus McNabb. He is the Player of the Week.

Bionic Hamstrings
Even though the Bionic Hamstrings fell in a very close battle with the Back That Pass Up Squad, the Bio's Lindsay Hofer shined in a game that was ultimately an offensive shootout.

Hofer, a one-year USL veteran, could have easily been the Player of the Week last week given her efforts in last Wednesday games, put in another tremendous effort this week making some key grabs which kept the Bionic Hamstrings in the game up to the finals minutes.

In just under a year's time, Lindsay has not only become an offensive receiving threat but has also put in a significant amount of time under-center showing that she has the arm and the guts to make big plays from the QB position.

So here's to you Lindsay Hofer, our UNDERDOG FLAG FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK!!!

Words of Wisdom
This week we have some Words of Wisdom to live by. Vicious and Delicious has always been a team were everyone just wants to have fun and enjoy the sun. A victory is great, but they see the big picture and that is fun!
This week we will give the 1st Sportsmanship Award to them because of how they hold their heads up high win or lose. They always shake everyone's hand with a genuine smile on their face. They make it a point to go up to the refs and give them a pat on the back for a job well done. Their actions, no doubt deserve a Sportsmanship Award.
Because of their high spirits, they like to fool around and draw up trick plays. Most of the time these plays don't work the way it is drawn up, but it ends up working in their favor somehow. These plays would be on Sports Center if they would be submitted. Either way after the play they are all laughing and everyone is left scratching their heads in wonder. Because of their constant trickery, we will also give them The 1st ever Trick Play Award.
Vicious and Delicious just broke a record at Underdog for the 1st team ever to win multiple awards on the same week. Congratulations guys and keep up the good times!

Warrior Dance
Team Flying Elbow Drop (FROM THE TOP ROPES!) knows how to have fun. Just ask any of their opponents. Despite their loss in yesterdays game against Jason's 1st Win, the Elbow drops still put on a show.
This game proved to be an entertaining one even if you don't like football. At the half, Flying Elbow Drops found themselves down by 2 touchdowns, but this didn't discourage them. Lead by their fearless leader, Anthony Paris, the girls got out on the field and grooved to the music in their heads. As it brought a smile to everyone's face.
History tells us that the Maori Warriors do a little dance before they go into battle. Well you can chalk this one up as a warrior dance as this team grooved into the 2nd half.
One thing is for certain, girls make the world turn and Flying Elbow Drops love to have fun on and off the field. For their great times and high spirits, we give them the Team of the Week Award, Congratulations!

Leland Cockroft blessed us with his presence on the football field on Wednesday night. He finally was able to make an appearance and he brought good times with him.
Hertz Donut was struggling to get enough players to play a game, but Leland grabbed his teammates by the shoulders to shake them and lead them onto the field and he did it with a smile. He strapped his team on his back and made a pact with them, if they are not smiling he will not throw it to them.
When someone made a catch and excellent run, Leland would lift up their team moral and spirits with words of encouragement like "Good job game changer!"
Even when his sub teammate Adam would sabotage the play, he would still give him support. Despite their loss on Wednesday, Leland knows how to have fun and enjoy the good times on the football field. For this reason we give Lealand Cockcroft the Player of the Week award. Congratulations Lealand and keep up the good times.

Rising Strong
It is always tough to call out one particular player as the shinning star when the whole team joins in celebration. This week one team rose above all the rest. It wasn't just because of their victory and advance to the next round, but it was how the carry themselves on and off the field.
Jason's 1st Win an indy team has come together like cealant on a wood deck. Their captain, Jason Thomas leads by example as he shakes their opponents hands before the game. The rest of the team follows in wishing the team good luck.
When the whistle blows for the game to start, Jason's 1st win wants to win, but above all, they are about fun. They play their hearts out, but also realize there are no NFL scouts knocking on their front door and therefore win or lose they have a smile on their faces.
Anyway you put it, Jason's 1st Win shines bright and they get the Team of the Week award. Congratulations!
