Late Fall Softcore/Midcore Co-Ed Volleyball at Southeast PDX Courts Thursdays

This weeks player of the week goes to Alex Marrs of JTT, or as her friends like to call her: “ Alexxx”. Alex displayed some awesome sportsmanship on the court this week by making sure she and her teammates were abiding by all the rules. It's not always easy to call yourself in the net, or to call a carry or an illegal hit by you or one of your teammates (especially if it resulted in a point for your team!) but Alex did, and here at Underdog we certainly admire that. Not to mention the fact that JTT played fair AND ended up winning their set! Hard work and fair play pays off, and this team is an example of that. So JTT and Alex, keep up the great work, and congratulations on being this weeks player of the week!

There is no better way to kick off the New Year than with some intense Underdog volleyball action. But Gabrielle Stonecryier of Notorious D.I.G took it up a notch on the court Thursday night by stating her New Years resolution was to (and I quote) "learn how to set". Now that is what I call some serious commitment. Aside from her dedication, Gabrielle was all smiles and great attitude, win or lose. She really set the bar high for the New Years, and we applaud that. Keep up the good work Gabrielle, and congratulations on being this weeks' Player of the Week!

This week it was winner takes all in Underdogs late fall volleyball season. There were many hopefuls, but only one team would get the title of soft core volleyball champions. Jeff Konoske of We Got Hops was out to get the win, and you could see the determination in his eyes. In their first game against Spiked punch it was a battle of the big hitters, and We Got Hops got the win in three very close games. But not before Jeff swan dived into the hardwoods to dig up what would have been a kill for Spiked Punch. If that's not determination, I don't know what is. Way to take one for the team Jeff, it paid off!
