Can You Dig It? (Indy #71)
Rob Kaye of Can You Dig It helped lead his team to an impressive victory in their last set of the night. Rob may have initially come off as a lost soccer play after heading the ball over the net during a point, but his skills shined through in the rest of the match - especially his encouraging and to the point cheering skills. Before starting their third set Rob came up with a cheer to amp up his teammates: "Can you dig it? PROGRESSIVELY MORE SO!" Progressively more so indeed Rob!

Serves you Right
Player of the Week goes to none other than the famous Nicole Wandell. No one can be sure how she managed to clone herself into multiple players, and maybe some don't want to know the trickery that goes into that, but there is no doubt her team benefits from having multiple Nicoles zooming from side to side on the court. At one point Nicole was seen throwing down a ninja tuck and roll maneuver under the net saving the ball for her team while at the same time she was on the opposite end of the court assisting a teammate for an aggressive spike. Being in two places at once is hard work but Nicole pulls it off effortlessly. Luckily for her teammates the double personalities stop when the game stops (as far as they can tell...)

Sets on the Beach
Sets on the Beach
Set up for Success
This Thursday, the SE PDX courts were filled with stylish and enthusiastic teams playing their hardest. However, one team stood out with their good spirit, great playing, and that certain... flair. Sets on the Beach set the bar low in their pre-game talk, but Mike was sure to pump up the team and they surpassed all expectations. Although at one point, Scott served perilously close to a watching child, no humans were harmed during the game. "Sets" also displayed great sportsmanship by making calls against themselves, even during a tight game. Their well coordinated outfits, good attitude, and well played games make "Sets on the Beach" our Team of the Week! Congrats Scott, Mike, Amber, and Madeline!

Spike Club
This weeks player of the week goes to Michael Hyder of Spike club. Michael was showing some intense dedication, going after ever ball and taking some really hard dives. Regardless of what the score was, Michael gave it everything he had. Not to mention, next week is Michael's birthday! So great job Michael, keep up the great work, and congratulations on being this weeks player of the week.

Meet the Frakers
Meet the Frakers
Meet Meet the Frakers
Meet the Frakers always seem to be having the best time- laughing, yelling to each other and enjoying their time at the SE PDX courts. Their team is the perfect mix of diverse skills and personalities that seem to be the recipe for success! First, add the brothers Kyle and Justin that bring the presence at the net and perfectly placed serves, respectively. Then, add Ryan who brings the infinite height and one-handed hits that land just out of reach of his opponents. Next are the solid hits and side-winding serves of Morgan, matched with the energy and enthusiasm of Autumn and Mr.Barkely. Finally, mix in Kim's line grabbing serves and Shannon's solid leadership and you've got the perfect combination for Underdog Volleyball!
This week, Meet the Frakers never lost their great attitude, and came back to be victorious in the third set! And everyone knows, the last game is the only one that counts...
Great job Frakers, you're the Team of the Week!

Spreading the Jam
Making plays and having fun, in between the lines and cheering on the sides, Mark was had a nice match. It was "the best volleyball I(he's) played all day", was the quote of the night. Good stuff. Adding hustle, a diving dig on a serve, and allowing subs for the 3rd game, Mark was 'jammin'. Nice match

Hang Your Ace Out Aces Hanging Out
Hang Your Ace Out Aces Hanging Out
Why is Hang Your Ace Out our team of the week? Is it because they're one of the most good natured Underdog volleyball teams? Is it because Ben, Molly, Aubrey, and Juan are an even spread of talent and have great team chemistry? Is it because Aubrey is one of the only Underdog players to always know the score and also has an amazing serve? Is it because Ben is such an experienced Underdog player and always keeps his teams in the game and calm and collected? Is it because Molly can set up Juan perfectly and he'll land it every time? Is it because, most of all, they always have good spirit and seem like they're having a great time? Yes, it is all these things and more that make Hang Your Ace Out our team of the week!

Where's the beach?
Hustling and diving all over the court from the net as the setter, Mike was making plays on offense and defense. Setting up his hitters, blocking and placing the ball on his attacks, he was doing it ALL.
Having fun, making plays and jokes throughout the 2 matches. Nice job and congrats on the wins.
