Keep Rocking
There were so many great plays and great games to choose from, but we have a winner for this week's award.
Rachel Cummings brought her team onto the sand to work on their tans and play some volleyball in the sun. As they trickled onto the courts, they proudly called themselves Scummings McHovdey.
When the team was interviewed as to inquire where the origins of the name stems from, Rachel simply said "....it is all of our last names combined."
They all collectively became one on the court as they won their match because of the amazing vertical jump of Rachel and awesome digs by Sarah. Matt chimed in with intimidation as he became The Patriot because he rocked out an American flag bandana. Christine showed up in the action with her stellar serves.
What really set this team apart from everyone else (aside from their name) was their uncanny sportsmanship they displayed on the court. It was nothing short of good times for this team as they celebrate in getting the Team of the Week Award. Congratulations guys, keep rocking!

Sloppy Sets on the Beach
Chad was an all-star this week - from bringing freshly picked fruit for his teammates (doesn't every team want a snack mom?) to laying down some stuntman style moves on the court. Chad's awesome energy and ninja volleyball bicycle kicks helped to keep his team going strong throughout the night...way to go Chad!

Marjorie Pichon
Marjorie Pichon
Indy Team #54
Marjorie rocked the courts this week! Between throwing down some powerful serves and moving around the court at the speed of light, she even fit in some time to dance it out mid-point. Although Marjorie claims she wasn't dancing, the word around the street is that she uses her quickness to disguise a victory one-step into just normal walking...watch closely and you will see through the impressive hits and digs to the accompanying dance routine for each point she wins.

Having a good time!
There was no way to pick just one player of the week this time because the entire Homeless Cougars team came out to play and have a good time. You had Becks blocking out the other team, Chris wearing a "kitten-taco-in-space-tshirt" Corin digging everything out and Scott just listening! This team took advantage of the sun and had some fun this week. Not to mention they grabbed the win too! Way to come out and have a great time Homeless Cougars!

Holding Down the Court
The Unsafe Sets team at Gabriel Park had some unfinished business.....literally. With a team that was stuck at the office Alecia and Rocelle held it down for their team this week. With a little help from some friends they help the Homeless Cougars on their toes game after game. They might not have come out with a big W, but you bet they represented their team well this week. Great job girls, now get ready for the playoffs!

Working on and Cheering On
Laura came ready to play in the first round of the Gabriel Park Tuesday Playoffs. Her team Sloppy Sets on the Beach was was playing the top seeded Scummings McHovedy. Laura and team brough their game and were ready to play. Laura was famous tonight for her "Elbow" shot. A quick out with the elbow and she returned the pass. The play may not have won them the game, but the entire court applauded her. When the game was over, she so casually brought out her chair to cheer on her other friends with their playoff game. Enjoying Underdog for the night, she was there until all the matches were over, just to get a few extra plays in with some fellow players. Great job tonight Laura, and see you on the inside!
