Summer Co-ed Softball at Montavilla Park Tuesday/Thursday

If you didn't know it was Samantha's first time behind the plate, you would have guessed she played catcher in college. She's a natural! Snatching balls, avoiding bats, and making crisp throws back to the mound; it was just another day in the life of one of Underdog's top catching prospects. But what we appreciated most: the fact that she saved our ump multiple time. Thanks Samantha. Next time we won't announce the total runs when it's too high... :)

Karen (Cookie) We want to spotlight this young lady who lives and breathes the spirit of Underdog. Fun is this ladies moto she gets the party started and the party was started at the catcher position. She was all over the backstop helping her pitcher. Getting that ball back to him timely and sometimes overpowering him with her throws. (sorry Mike she would say then a smile and chuckle would come. She is just too strong is all.) Then she takes it to an entirely other level when she gets up to bat crushing the ball and beating out throws this lady is on fire letting nothing keep her from her fun. She was amazing, I totally enjoyed watching her do her hang out there. She has raised the bar all the others need to bring their F (Fun) game She is taking it to another level. She is the leader of the pack. Keep up the great work Cookie. (Karen) Did I mention this is her second game since I think she said junior high. You go girl!

Dude's got skills! In a night where two evenly matched teams got a chance to square off, Ike took a leadership role with his team with showing us all how to play 2nd base. Line-drives, ground balls, pop fly's...ain't nothing got anything on Ike! Heck, even the line drive over his head can't get by this guy. A spectacular jumping catch with what seemed like a 6 foot vertical leap was one of the many plays that helped Hoodrats bring home the victory tonight!

Kristi earned player of the week swinging for the fences! Kristi knocked in 3 RBI's in a close game of 8-7 against the Bench Warmers that saw one extra inning! Without Kristi and her RBI's SwatTech wouldn't have done the victory dance after the game, congrats Kristi!

Player of the week was an easy pick this week, Jeannie Stevenson of Sultans of SwatTech put together a performance for the teams season ending game. Jeannie had 2 impressive hits that drove in 3 RBI's. It was great to see how united the team was to congratulate Jeannie as she came full swing in her technique.

This man is the player of the week because he was a force to be reckoned with. He was unstoppable, he was all over the outfield making plays that no one thought he could make. He stole a home run from a guy that potentially could have tied the game. The ball hit deep in left center, he gets on his horse picks it up and hits the relay and the throw is on the money and tag out at the plate...WOW!!! Who is this guy??? Nothing got passed him without being it challenged. There is no quit in this guy. He did have a brilliant day a on the offensive side of the ball also...This guy was impressive to watch...
