Late Fall Softcore/Midcore Co-ed Indoor Volleyball in SEPDX Thursday

Its true that great things come in small packages. This fact holds true when it comes to Underdog Volleyball too!

World meet Eliana McKay, after tonight's performance word will get out around the league that she is one serving machine and is this weeks Player of the week for SE PDX!

Its rare that we get a unanimous and instantaneous recommendation from an Indy Team (mostly because everyone is meeting for the first time) for Player of the Game, but after watching Eliana knock serve after serve across the net, it was clear to see that in her teams eyes, she was a difference maker in tonights match. Both happy and humble, Eliana is not shy about dominating at the serving line and at one point had 8 consecutive points.

Way to go Eliana, great job on opening night and thank you for such a special performance. Take a bow you are this weeks Player of the Week!

It can be said that communication on the court is key to the success of the team. Rosa has this down cold and can be heard communicating with and for her team all across the Gym.

Always playing with a smile on her face and quick with a congratulations and positive word for her team the league may just need to adopt a new nickname for her as "The Voice". Oh and she can smack the heck out of the ball when she serves!

Thanks for being such a positive influence out there Rosa, keep on talkin it up!

Let's set the seen... Carl is playing back row (yes, his athleticism is better appreciated up front, but not on this play...) and Joy of Sets hits a beautiful ball to the opposite corner. A wayward bump from his teammate left Carl scrambling towards the benches, ending up directly underneath the basketball hoop. To his dismay, the volley ball bounced off the rim, and through the hoop.. Now most players would have just let the ball drop, knowing that the play was null and void. But not Carl. He clasped his hands, bent his knees, and with a great grunt bumped the ball all the way back across the net and into play. Unfortunately, it was dead as soon as it hit the hoop, but this beautiful play will forever live on in our memory!

The man can flat out play the net. From spiking to blocking Danny was a one man show up at the net tonight.

He had his opponent changing their strategy to keep the ball away from his side of the net. While the strategy to neutralize Danny worked, it didn't stop him from delivering shot after shot when he had the opportunity.

Playing with a smile the whole time makes Danny this weeks player of the week.
