There could not have been a more perfect day for this spring season finale. Sunshine and high temperatures made for an exciting and fun filled playoffs this season. Each game was a battle and the players showed their passion for kickball. The players came out to enjoy the great weather and compete for the championship. The players showed great class and respected both the ref and other teams. The championship game was all but an offensive explosion. Each team demonstrated that defense wins championships in kickball. Blue Balls came from behind to secure a 4-2 victory over Orange-a-tang. We were scoreless for most of the game until the later innings when Orange-a-tang scored to go up 2-1. Blue Balls battled back to score 2 in the 5th and hold that lead going in to the last two innings. They managed to get one more insurance run and kept the other team off the bases. The defense of Blue Balls definitely showed why they are so dangerous. Vibol was the player of the game for his outstanding outing on the mound. Great effort throughout the season Blue Balls!
Vibol is honored as the player of the week. His great pitching and off the mound defense kept his team in every game. Whenever there was a play to be made, he made it look easy. His dominance on the mound lead his team to the championship title.
Can you catch her? Can you tag her? Can you get her out? Sarah Elze helped lead Blue Balls to another win and lots of smiles with her brazen and daring baserunning. Were still not sure what she was doing exactly, but it didn't matter as Blue Balls cruised to a 11-2 victor over a tenacious and fun Red Balls of Fury to close out another awesome Sunday of kickball at Unthank Field. Way to go Sarah!
