With strong winds affecting play, Big Balls rode stronger offense to the Midcore championship.
Big Balls knocked out The Runs in a semi-final showdown with Barrett Olafson providing stellar play to propel them to a 9-6 victory. In the other semi-final, BAD Company beat the Mother Chukers in a 6-5 nail bitter. Ryan Cunningham provided a game saving catch with the bases loaded to seal the victory to set up a championship matchup between BAD Company and Big Balls.
In the final, Big Balls started out hot and put some major runs across, but BAD Company made a valliant effort and trimmed the lead to 3. Big Balls settled down and got the crucial outs when they needed them to seal the win and the championship. Great win for a great team. Nice job guys - see you in the Spring!
As the captain of the champion big balls, Vibol leads by example. He is as steady as a rock on defense - really locking down the pitchers spot. He also provides stellar offense. His play was instrumental in leading the Big Balls to the mid-core championship.
In a wind-assisted day there was no shortage of long balls, HR's and wicked movement towards right field on Field 1. The winners and non-winners of the day were determined just as much by the players that were able to kick it to right field as skill level. Well, Big Balls was one of those teams that took advantage of the massive winds and deep balls to right field today. Match that with their skill level and there was just no stopping them Big Balls from seizing the day!
