1:00pm - In the first game TERRORdactyl Feeding Frenzy defeated Rainbow Happiness Sunshine Squad 4-3. There was great defense played by both teams and Team Captain Matthew Orenchuk for TERRORdactyl Feeding Frenzy was awarded player of the game for his defensive prowess.
2:00pm - The Abusement Park overcame The Claw 10-4 with great 3rd base coaching by Ben Waverly and extra base hits.
3:00pm - Drop Kick Kids vs. The Abusement Park: The score was even until the 5th inning when Drop Kick Kids busted out for 4 runs that inning. Outfielder Soo Hyun held down the outfield with spectacular catches as well. In the final inning, The Abusement Park rallied back but it wasn't enough and Drop Kick Kids won 10-8.
4:00pm The Final game was intense. There was a big crowd of park goers and other kickball teams that were eliminated early stuck around to watch the big game. TERRORdactyl Feeding Frenzy sustained some key injuries and it showed in the final score with only 2 runs scored. Drop Kid Kids however were fresh and laid down 9 runs. Team Captain Alayna Vincent was awarded Finals MVP for putting together a super strong well bonded team.
Alayna Vincent and her Drop Kick Kids won The Summer SE Co-ed Softcore Championship. With her leadership she lead them to the promised land.
I don't know what happened today, but Holy Home Runs Batman. The only thing I can come up with is that the sewage leak gave people bionic kicking powers. On a typical Sunday, we may get 3 or 4 homers, but this daily average turned into a per game average. I just have to assume everybody was trying to make up for having a bye week over our Nation's 233rd Birthday.
One a day of huge legs, one player stands upon the precipice of Kickball stardom. Zac Thomas of the Drop Kick Kids tallied 3 home runs, one of which was a 1st inning Grand Salami. This quick start put the previously undefeated Hot Mess team into shell shock. The question is: how will they recover over the break? For his strong leg and great team play Zac Thomas has earned Colonel Summers Kickball Player of the Week.
Honorable mentions go to Joe Ettinger and Erik Swanson of We Always Get to 3rd Base. They totaled 4 home runs and 11 of their teams 20 scores.
