Congratulations Mother Chuckars on a great season of kickball! A team that takes to heart the famous phrase, "If you're not first, you're last" simply has to do well. Through the final games of the championship, the Mother Chuckars continued to play solid offense and defense as they had shown throughout the regular season.
In game one, Bloopers did their best to stop the big kicking Chuckars. Through the first couple innings they had succeeded in keeping the run deficit within reach, but the Chuckars pulled away to a nine run lead while their defense held Bloopers to only 6 runs.
On field 2, a very close defensive game between We Got the Runs, Again and Big Balls was finally broken in a single Big Balls offensive streak to put them ahead. Though We Got the Runs were able to keep the damage minimal, they were unable to kick themselves out of the hole.
In the final round of winter kickball action it was Big Balls vs. Mother Chuckars for the Underdog title. Again, the game started close with Big Ball defense keeping the Chuckar scoring to a minimum and their offense keeping enough runs trickling in to keep it close. In the fourth inning, a collision at home plate brought the game to a halt. Molly Montgomery was on the ground for a time, but was back in the kicking order to get her team back in the game within two innings of the collision. It wae the offensive kicking on the Chuckars side that kept Big Balls at bay and got them the championship. Congrats, Mother Chuckars.
