Sunday Fall softball at Irving Park featured three tightly-contested playoff games which were decided by a total of 4 runs. Perhaps none of the three was closer than the game between the Sand Lot and Lime Drives. With 4 lead changes, 2 innings of ties, and a run differential never greater than 3, the game was up for grabs throughout. In the end, the Sand Lot was able to rally from 3 down in the final inning to take the lead and hung on to win thanks to a game-saving catch in the outfield with Lime Drives threatening in the bottom of the 7th. In lieu of choosing one player to single out, the Sand Lot collectively takes home 'Team of the Week' honors for this playoff round. Every player is constantly up and cheering on their teammates when at bat and communicating with one another on defense. This doesn't mean they don't also take some good-natured ribbing from their teammates, however!
