Are you kidding me!? This was a back and forth battle all night long featuring 5 lead changes! Highlight plays all night long from both teams. The One Hit Wonders stormed into the lead with a 10 run 4th inning to take a 6 run lead. It appeared the lead would hold until the top of the 6th. Mound control regained control with a 7 run inning! The lead was taken back in the bottom of the 6th for The Wonders.
However, Mound Control would not be denied and put up a big 6 runs in the top of the 7th! They never gave up and relied on their clutch first baseman Emily to lock up the game with her defense at first base! 21-16 final score. Congratulations to Mound Control and One Hit Wonders on special seasons! Can’t wait to see you guys on the diamond again!
Emily was showing off her glove today at first base! She had multiple plays at first stretching or making nice picks for the outs. The biggest came in the bottom 7th on the first out to take the momentum back against The One Hit Wonders. She had a full extension grab for the out coining her the nickname Gumby! Great game Emily, congrats on the Championship! Underdog legend!
In a damp, rainy Sunday afternoon, Mound Control took control of the playoffs by winning two consecutive games. Kyle Weese helped Mound Control come from behind with a big game at the plate. It seemed as though every time he stepped up to the plate, there were runners in scoring position and Kyle delivered. Kyle along with the rest of Mound Control are hitting their stride at the most opportune time. Nice job, Kyle!
