Down their starting quarterback, Trojan Men's hopes were washed away in the rain. As they began the game, Steven Shortridge came in off the side to fill the void of QB.
Steven stepped up like Tom Brady did when Drew Bledsoe went down. Steve led his team to an impressive victory over a good team. He would zip the ball right pass the defense right into the hands of his receiver. If we were keeping track, he would have probably broken a record for fastest throw in the rain.
Steven finished the game with 4 touchdown passes and an amazing 601 yards (mostly by the receivers). This is why we congratulate Steven Shortridge for this Week's Player of the Week, congratulations.
Opening day for Underdog brought out eager players. Everyone was cooped up during the holidays that it felt good to get out on the football field and throw the old pig skin around. For two players it was like they were playing in their back yard.
Jared Brett and Shawn Harbert from Trojan Men came out to play in a great game to watch. Through out the game Shawn would make amazing catches. He made the difficult catches seem so graceful like a watching a ballerina on ice.
Jared would lead the strike on defense, picking off the quarterback twice and causing disruption in his game play.
These two players nearly had a bbq because it was like watching them play like they've done this for years. Both of these players share the honor of Players of the Week. Congratulations
