This week's player of the week goes out to Oscar Arana from Imminent Domain. Oscar was having a great time this week. He was cracking jokes left and right, interacting with not only his team but ALL teams playing in the 7:30 timeslot.
The game got interrupted a couple of times with a rogue volleyball off the second court stopping play. Each time Oscar would joke back and for with the team that they were cramping his serving style now that he got one over the net! Luckily he was able to make that following serves as well.
In addition to his serving skills Oscar was king of the footwork. Each time there was a difficult ball to get Oscar simply stuck out his foot as a last ditch effort. Ironically 60% of the time this movement worked and the ball was back in the air to play!!
Congratulations Oscar to a great week of volleyball and a lot of fun on Monday night!
It started like any other Monday on the volleyball courts for Imminent Domain. Before they stepped up to play, they brought some drinks with them to loosen up and a simple crack of the neck and they were ready to play.
Team Imminent Domain quickly fell behind, but that didn't bother them. They all played like they were having fun. Laughing when they would hit their own teammates with the ball and hustling all over the place. This team was having a good time as if they were in a good ole fashion family BBQ.
In the 3rd game, they were already down 2 games, but this time it was different, Imminent Domain re-grouped for their final strategy over a quick drink and they played with nothing to lose. When the score reached 20-7 in their favor, you could see a glimmer in their eyes and eagerness to win.
They served the game point and won. Once that happened you could see confetti fall from the sky. Imminent Domain celebrated their 1st win like the we just reached the millennium. It was a crazy mini celebration at Oregon Park for a few moments. I'm pretty sure that if given enough time there would've been a parade going on. Anyway you put it, team Imminent Domain celebrates like no other and for that, they are the Team of the Week. Congratulations and keep the good times rolling!
