Best Sets Ever made the best decision ever when they decided to mix two teams from the winter into one great team for the spring. These one team was a consistent front runner all season and they were out to win it all from day one. Hard work and a lot of fun made this team one to beat each week.
They didn't have it easy tonight though, when it comes to playoffs teams bring their best game and Best Sets Ever felt that from both teams. It took them 3 games to fight off Sets on the Beach to advance to the Finals. Sets on the Beach snuck out a close 2 point win in game 2 to force a game three. But one by one Best Sets Ever pulled out a 4 point win in game 3.
It was then on to playing set issues who had to defeat hard hitting Ace Ace Baby. Set issues advanced in 2 games so they were well rested which slowed them down in game 1. They made a run but feel short by 2 points. They came back with vengeance in game 2 with a commanding 10 point win. But Best Sets Ever was determined and made a come back of their own to win game three by three and take home those champs wristbands!
Congrats to all those on Best Sets Ever! You have a summer to hold your title, but teams will have your number in the fall. Get ready to defend your title!
Player of the Week goes to Jeff F this week. As one of the first to show up for his game, he come ready to play with a big smile on his face. His friendly hello and welcoming attitude every week is always a pleasure..unless you are the other team that has to pass one of his rocket spikes. Not to mention if you try to get one past him, he is going to go driving after it! Few balls drop when Jeff is on the court. He a tough player but one of the friendliest. Great work this week Jeff.
