Tonight 4 were better than 6. Sportland earned their Championship the hard way...with the the team in Maui. While the others were drinking Mai Tai's on the beach, Jill, Julie Katie and Mark worked hard for 2 straight hours fighting off the #3 and #4 seeds to win the Spring Wednesday Tubman.
The first game of the night they had to take on the tough and scrappy Notorious DIG who gave nothing away. Sportland had to fight for every point and pull out all of the stops to earn the right to head to the Championship. Their tired legs were met with the Blundercats who were pumped up from last weeks upset win against the #1 seed. The Blundercats left nothing to chance and were diving for every point! However, Sportland didn't let their tiredness show until they earned that championship. It was a great night of volleyball tonight. Way to go Sportland, congrats!
This week Rebecca was the stand out all-star even the next set of teams were commenting on her crazy dives and killer hits! In her neon orange top she stood out and her team appreciated it as she ran around the court making sure the ball didn't touch the ground! Rebecca star studded moment came after passing a short ball to her setter, then hitting from the back row only to be blocked and dig up her own hit and save the play from being dead. If Rebecca keeps this up all season she will be a force to be reckoned with! Great job Rebecca!
