Spring Softcore Co-ed Indoor Volleyball at Harriet Tubman Wednesday

This week Pound Town came out of nowhere and put on a show! With a fire behind them they came ready to play! Their serves were fantastic and their defense couldn't be better. One all star this week was Alex. She was all over the court and never let a ball drop if she could help it. She also was a huge helper in keeping the team upbeat and excited to play. Her best work of the night was her serving. She had several aces and was able to help her team out of a hole and keep the game close! Great work this week Alex and Pound Town!

While I try to spread the wealth on highlighting the amazing players from all teams it is hard to not highlight a team who managed to win their first game and first match of the season! To Pound Town this win could have been a championship game! They all poured their heart and soul into the match. A lot of the credit for the win should be given to their captain Sean. He is an honest Abe on the court and calls his fouls to keep the game fair and considerate for both parties. But what made him stand out this week and was a big part of their win was his setting! He is a vocal player at the net and that helps his team know if he can get to the ball or if he needs help. He also had around 7-8 perfect sets for his team to smash and gain points to take and hold the lead! The overall attitude and enthusiasm Sean and the Pound Town team have make them the ultimate Underdog and I hope the momentum of this win carries over to next week and into playoffs. Great work team!

This week was rematch week! Hidden Volley Ranch was ready to place their revenge on Pound Town. Patrick and his team came ready to play and smack talk was a must! It was all about the mental game if they were going to win. And also about stuffing people at the net! This part was something Patrick was really looking forward too! He was ready to block and spike the ball in Pound Town's face! While Patrick had a few great blocks that help his team gain momentum and come back from a large deficit, Pound Town was just able to edge them out. With a close match both teams had a great time and Patrick showed he is a terror in front of the net!

Player of the week was well deserved this week by Jessica of Notorious DIG. She was an ace from behind the serving line, leading an almost come back in game 1 and helping clench game 2. She talked it up and was ready for the tips that came her way. All night she was on the court working hard and keeping the game close. Great work Jessica and all of D.I.G!
