Fall Co-ed Softball at Irving Park Sundays

Down big at the end of the game, Scott wasn't going down without a fight. Attempting to stretch a ground ball single into a double, he channeled his inner Benny 'the Jet' Rodriguez and got himself into one the biggest pickles, any of us, had ever seen. The rundown ultimately proved a fortuitous gamble, as Scott wound up safely, back at first base. A+ for effort and comedic relief to keep the game fun and competitive! Scott's enthusiasm for the game and endless motor serve as a positive influence on both his teammates and opponents alike.

Jessica was a defensive stalwart in left field, helping lead her team to victory over Underhanded Compliments. In a tightly contested affair, she locked down the outfield, making crafty plays and SportsCenter worthy catches! Every time UC tried to mount a rally, they hit the ball to wrong part of the field. Word to the wise, you might want to go opposite field when you see Jessica patrolling left!

Emily was an absolute beast on Sunday. With her Underhanded Compliments locked into a couple of nail-biters with Pitch Please and the Syndicate, Emily stepped up big time and again to lead her team to two impressive wins! An absolute vacuum cleaner at second, Emily proved she had the clutch ice water gene running through her veins at the plate. With her team trailing by three to the Syndicate in the top of the 7th, Emily had the at-bat of the day. After pitching around the batter in front of her, Emily made her opponent pay with a huge three run homer to tie the game and force extra innings. Underhanded Compliments went on to win in the 8th inning, following a trio of game saving catches to fend off a further rally in the bottom of the 7th. An all-around impressive day for Emily and her teammates!
