Fall Co-ed Midcore Kickball at Unthank Park

Dave Trausneck brought out all the stops last Sunday with a jam packed hour of hilarity and a couple great plays. Before the game even started, he was giving the small crowd a show. Bruce Springsteen seems to be his weak point, can't stop that body from dancin'! Through the game, he kept the good times rolling. A great throw aimed at his chest ended up supermanned and flew off into the field like bullets off a man of steel. Off a ricochet fly ball off the right fielder, Dave dives and catches an amazing ball. Finally, there was the called "ball" between the legs dance that put everything over the top.

Absolutely in the top players for an Underdog All-Star team of awesomeness. Well done, sir. The more fun you keep having, the more good times we all have!

It should be a rule that all underdoggers have such nicknames as "Teen Wolf" throughout our leagues.

Mr. Wolf pulled off one of the most amazing ball dodges on his way to home I have ever seen. The throw came in from left field as he rounded third base and had just the right spin and trajectory to keep its velocity on the bounce into the infield. Sean had looked back to see the throw but had not expected the throw to make it and only just saw the near tag on his heels at six feet to the plate. Out of pure kickballin' instinct, Sean jumps, arms still moving and legs still fluttering into the air. He jumps just over the ball and lands a perfectly placed foot onto the plate as the ball catches up and bounces off his calf. Wow wow wow. That dodge will go down in the Dirty Bird list of the so few ones that got away. A-friggin-mazing.

Andreas is this week's POTW for an amazing performance in the field. It didn't matter how hard the ball was kicked because Andreas was there to make a play. Line drives to sky high kicks were all caught by this man today. His great enthusiasm in the field made for an exciting and fun filled atmosphere for everyone. Great game Andreas!

Winner of the best game saving throw of the year, Jason McMahon! This throw to tag the runner just before crossing the plate for the tying run in the bottom of the 9th inning should be played on kickball greatness reels forever and ever, again. Simply amazing toss, Jason. The video of this throw will be passed on from generation to generation of kickball fanatics!
