Thursday night marked the championship game for the Division one in the Alberta Park Summer League, and what a game it was. In a game marked by some great defensive plays, including decoy throws and diving catches, the biggest play of the game was a base clearing triple! Uncle Juice and the Honey Nut Ichiros went back and forth all night long sharing the lead. Going into the top of the 7th inning Uncle Juice had a 2-run lead but the Ichiros were always capable of mounting a big comeback. In the top of the 7th however, Uncle Juice broke away. With one run across and the bases loaded the left fielder stepped to the plate and delivered on an 0-0 pitch that she laced over both left fielders' heads. The triple she launched cleared the bases and gave Uncle Juice and 6 run lead going into the bottom of the inning. This lead proved to be the difference as Uncle Juice was able to hold on for the win. Great Job Uncle Juice!

Thursday night saw the end of the Alberta Park Tuesday and Thursday league with a showdown between FPO and We've Got the Runs. It was one of the cooler nights of the summer and most of the smoke had (finally!!) cleared but that didn't stop We've Got the Runs from being on fire! They game out of the gate strong with a nine run first inning. FPO did what they could to chip away at the lead but the bats remained hot for the Runs! Pitcher TJ stood out by throwing a complete game on the mound while smashing two stand-up triples. All in all it was a great way to end the Summer league at Alberta Park!
