Balls Deep in Tips & Pass
No matter how intense the competition, there should always be room for sportsmanship in any game. Paige was a force to be reckoned with, corralling her teammates on a wild and crazy opening night. Even when we had to call an audible and shuffle courts, Paige brought her team together for a fun night of bumps, sets, and spikes, embodying the Underdog spirit with her attitude. For increasing the fun had by all, Paige is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!

On occasion, sports offer a platform for an athlete to transcend the competition and the game played. Such was the case when Caitlin of To Kill a Rocking Serve transcended Volleyball with her mad cheering skills.  To Kill a Rocking Serve will sorely miss Caitlin on the court this season, but while they will miss Caitlin’s pure physical prowess, they will get a robust and enthusiastic cheerleader. Sorry to hear about your toe, Caitlin. For a speedy and painless recovery, Caitlin is our Player of the Week!

Undeterred by missing two players due to vacation, and the potential for a double header Arthur came ready to play hard. Taking it one serve at a time, Free Ballers chipped away at the score and seized their first victory of the night. Their next challenge was to take on the No.1 seed. Arthur took control of the game and lead his team to victory. He as all over the court, making up for the two missing players with one handed saves, and consistent severing. He was a true hero on the court tonight.

Just call him Single Hand Sam! Sam played in back to back games but that didn't slow him down. He made one save after another sprinting to the back of the court, sliding and throwing a single hand out to put the ball back in the middle of the court for a teammate to place it over the net. In thee championship game he went wide for another incredible save to get the ball over the net for a kill. Not only did Sam have amazing plays throughout the game, he has consistent in his serves and setting up his team for success. His sportsmanship shined after Hand Stuff lost the first game of the Championships. He cheered and encouraged the team, they came back and took home the win. Way to go Sam!
