Late Fall Co-ed Flag Football at Lewis and Clark Sundays

Week one for new teams is always an adventure; some players may be football veterans, while others have never stepped on a field. It is a fun mix and teams figure out who excels in what part of the game. PwC and Football Heads were both in this phase on Sunday. They were two new teams looking to begin the season on a high note.

Football Heads started with an early lead but PwC rallied back to make it a tight contest. The Heads turned to their defense to salvage the game and they held on for an exciting victory, setting the tone for the rest of the season!

Indy teams are vital to the success of Underdog. It brings together strangers from all over Portland who are looking to simply have some fun and play a game they love. It is doubly rewarding when they are successful, even in their nascent days.

This has been the case for our Maroon squad, starting out the season 2-1. They are doing it on both sides of the ball and showing cohesion far advanced from a team just getting to know each other.

PwC waited for the right time to strike. They competed all season, but the wins did not pile up. That changed this week, as they posted back-to-back wins on the opening day of playoffs.

As the 5-seed in a seven-team bracket, PwC had to engineer two upsets; they did both in nail-biting fashion. They squeaked past Football heads, 27-19, and then top-seeded Indy 10, 20-14, and find themselves in the division championship game!
