A game for all ages that concluded on the hard wood Monday night. The number 2 seed would take on the number 4 seed for Underdog glory, fame and bragging rights.
The #2 seed of Thai Dish came out rockin' their tie-dyed shirts with sweat dripping down their chins staring their opponents straight in the eyes. Nonchuck Fury was the #4 seed and have experience in the championship game as they came onto the court full of energy and thirsty for another championship under their belts. This was the game that everyone was waiting for. Free admission to all and it was a great game.
Nonchuck Fury took the 1st game and was looking like the veteran team was about to take the 2nd game as well when Laura made a great catch to bring in a player from the sideline. This player proved to make the difference in the game.
Brandon Little immediately went on an onslaught of the 4 remaining players to end the game and tie the match at one game a piece. The momentum switched over and Thai Dish took the next game as Brandon once again carried the heavy load of the team.
The score now 2-1 in favor of Thai Dish with only 3 minutes left. Nonchuck Fury needing this win to force an overtime game, played like they have never played before. Their thirst was only quenched by a victory as they continued to play hard, but destiny was not on their side.
Alex Zimmerman, captain of Thai Dish made a strategic move to call out his own teammate. In a playful humor, Brandon took his words and it was on! Nonchuck Fury tried its best, but Brandon Little was deadly and on fire. He would not be stopped as he made the final out to secure the championship 3-1.
During his tournament onslaught, Brandon Little set a record by getting 33 players out and dodging approximately 59 balls thrown at him. He is the Dodgeball MVP and will most likely be inducted into the Hall of Fame.....once we establish that.
No matter how you slice it Thai Dish came, saw and conquered. Congratulations!
