Giving their all in the championship midcore finals vs. E! True Volleywood Story, Shaggin' Balls came ready to take the title and defend their first place status where they've camped all season. This group of players all with different styles, come together week after week in seamless formation. Shaggin' Balls had no trouble putting away the championship roaring out of the gates by winning the first two sets. Knowing they had the headbands on their noggins, Shaggin' Balls took it easy in the third game and as a result, dropped it 25-14. No matter, the victory is theirs to keep and the shaggin' keeps on coming!
Chris Whytock of Shaggin' Balls is the ultimate representative of the team name. This guy is everywhere on the court looking for a dig, assist, block, whatever, to get the "point" across. Shaggin' Balls was in the championship game at St. Charles on Tuesday night vs, E! True Volleywood Story and Chris was in the thick of the battle. He consistently sent kill after kill over the net and most times was extremely effective with his placement and point. His fearless play inspired his teammates to respond as well as they defeated E! True Volleywood Story in the first two games to claim the title of #1. Chris is the Shagmeister Supreme and takes the belt to victory!
Lindsey Diercksen had a big night at St. Charles on Tuesday. She may be small in stature, but she is large in talent. Especially when you need solid defense in the back row. Nothing gets by this girl - her saves included arm flips and strikes, leg extensions to get to the ball and determination that is intense and relentless. Lindsey used her power serves and impeccable defense to help Shaggin Balls win their doubleheaders and secure the #1 spot in the standings.
Oh what a marvelous thing to have Brad Biddle on your front line! Brad + Ball = Bombs. No one has better kill factor at net than Brad and Tuesday at St. Charles was a spectacular night for this amazing player. Brad and Shaggin Balls teamed up for a 2-1 match victory over E! True Volleywood Story in their first game and a 3-0 match win over Take A Hit in their second game. And much of that success was due to Brad's steady and powerful A-game while protecting the net with incredible blocking and killing skills from the front row.
