This week's POTW goes to the dynamic duo, husband and wife team, Euclides (E) and Sarah Galvez. The couple made a HUGE contribution to their team, Toto, in Tuesday's playoff action at St. Charles. Facing their opponent, Take A Hit, E was magical in the front row with tremendous blocking and attacks. Sarah meanwhile, was busy at mid and back rows to provide the ups and assists on defense along with extremely accurate service. Their performances led to a Toto victory over Take A Hit. Moving up the playoff rung, E and Sarah kept the momentum going versus Shaggin Balls. This match didn't have the same outcome, and saw Toto's season come to an end. However, the big reason to celebrate these two is that they are going to be parents with Baby Galvez coming in June 2018. Perhaps next year at this time, E and Sarah will have the little one watching the folks as they excel on the hardwoods. Congrats E and Sarah!
Natalie earned this weeks player of the week with her big block and put back. When the other team was stunned at the amazing block, they watched and she finished the point by tipping it right back and down to seal the deal. Natalie was big at the net all night long and played a solid match. Great work Natalie!
Toto had a big night of double header play with a total of six games vs. both E True Volleywood Story and Take a Hit. They masterfully rose to the occasion behind Natalie Galvan's incredible performance. Just when their opponent seemed to gain momentum, POW!, Natalie pounded back with a fantastic and strong service delivery. She put the defense in a "duck and cover" mode because she serves with such a force. Her defense was on point as well with great blocking at net and perfection setting for her teammates. And to top it off, her effort to go all out over six games scores her POTW honors. Toto took 5 out of 6 sets with the help of Natalie's kickass night.
