Jimmy Chitwood. Rocky Balboa. Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger. The Slow Summer Sloths. All of these athletes know what it means to face tough odds. Like the others before them, The Slow Summer Sloths laid it all on the line and walked away champions in the end. In the "last game" of his USL Football career, Brian Tomalak led his team past an extremely fast, talented, and previously undefeated Softcore Fun Seekers. Tomalak threw for 7 TDs all the while sporting a scruffy, Brett Favre-esque beard. Both teams aired it out and scored early n' often but it was great clock management that allowed the Sloths to take the lead for good with a TD and 1 pt. conversion with only :36 left. Final score: Slow Summer Sloths - 48 Softcore Fun Seekers - 47.
Brandon did his best Michael Strahan impression this week collecting 5 sacks. Sometimes defense beats offense, and even though he had to wait until "5-dog, go!" to get after the QB, he still managed to cause havoc in the back field. This helped his team eek out a 1 point victory 26-25.
